I have a new toy: Wookieepedia
By Great White Snark | March 8, 2007
Learning more than I ever wanted to about the Star Wars canon.
Emperor Palpatine was resurrected? WTF?

Let me know when this starts to tickle…

from what I understand, there are some 100+ novels (both “graphic” and otherwise) explaining what happens in the SW universe after Palps buys it in ROTJ. Some of them are actually quite good.
But constantly reincarnating a baddie like Palpatine over and over again? That’s star trek territory. Not the klingons again!

Don’t forget the hordes of comic books. That’s where they get a lot of the pictures from on Wookieepedia.

oh, i gave them their due - and they’re “graphic novels” not comics. It’s literature dammit.

There might be some graphic novels, too… but there’s plenty of SW comics.
And some of the novels are quite good? As in, Palpatine has his body cloned so that, when he dies, he can float his spirit into one of them and be resurrected? No. My take is that those novels should not exist, because they detract from the relative purity of the core SW story.

i believe the whole resurrection thing was from a comic series, and I agree. Stupid concept.
And largely, I would agree with you about preserving the purity of the SW universe, but that’s a tough argument to maintain after Georgie shat out Episode 1.
“How about spinning, that’s a good trick! Whooooaaaa!”

Heh. Hence the “relative” purity of the movies.
