‘Maelstrom’ Episode of Battlestar Gallactica More Costly Than Planned

By Great White Snark | March 8, 2007

Watch Battlestar Gallactica? Enjoy the scene at the end of the last episode (”Maelstrom”) where Admiral Adama (Edward James Olmos) goes apeshit on his model ship in an emotional outburst over the death of Kara Thrace (Katee Sackhoff)? Well, according to executive producer Ron Moore, on his BSG podcast, the tantrum in that scene was entirely improvised and Eddie unwittingly destroyed an on-loan museum-quality ship worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I’m just glad there wasn’t a helpless puppy on hand to suffer the effects of Eddie’s acting.

That’s rad. The heck with the ship, it can be rebuilt, right? No one stands in the way of Eddie’s mighty acting fist(s).
