Kevin Smith Smites Mel Gibson and The Passion

By Great White Snark | May 14, 2007

This must be how Evangeicals feel when Jesus uses his magical powers to turn Mephistopheles into Crisco.

Thanks to the wonders of the Internets, I get to enjoy one of my heroes, Kevin Smith, verbally demolishing a deserving target in his usual imaginative and (imaginatively) foul-mouthed way. The target? Mel Gibson and his magnum opus, Passion of the Christ. Remember that one? The one where the Jews killed Jesus, and were real dicks about it?

Ok, so I never saw the movie. I don’t want to do anything that even resembles support of Mel Gibson. I’m not sure he’d want my dirty Jew-money anyway. But I have seen the trailers for the movie, a-a-a-and I did read some headlines about it, so I feel more than licensed to spout off.

Anyway, once you get a minute into this video, I promise you won’t have had this much fun enjoying a good rant since, well… since we all had a good laugh at Mel Gibson’s last drunken escapade. “Sugartits,” indeed.

OK, that was friggin’ hilarious. I kept thinking of the late great Sam Kinison, who I had the honor of seeing live, back in the day.

I also kept thinking of what my Aunt Barbara said once about “born-again” Christians. “Some of us got it right the first time,” she said, rattling the ice cubes in her scotch and soda. (You gotta love Presbyterians.)

      Thanks for sharing, GWS.

Yeah, well, what can I say. Our family coat of arms features a bottle of Scotch and a stick of butter.

That’s a really long way of saying “breakfast”.
