I like some of the plans put out by the dems at the moment, but I don't think complete socialized medicine for everyone would work here. But what do I know? I play with action figures. On a similar note, when I worked at Walmart and I had a Canadian dad and kid thinking about buying a CD player they figured that it would cost less if they bought it in the US and brought it back with them. The kid says, "Wow, it's so much cheaper." and the dad looks at me and says, "Well, it might be, but where do you go when you get sick?" I said, "A doctor." and he walked out sort of snippy like. It was like he was expecting me to say that I'd die if I ever caught the flu or something. Anyway, I always felt the same way you did when I was picking up comics as a kid.
