Stop Motion Video of Lego Batmobile Construction

By Great White Snark | November 14, 2007

“Ages 10-14,” my ass.

Thankfully, my friends know that a 1,045-piece Lego set–namely the Batmobile Ultimate Collector’s Edition–is a perfectly appropriate birthday gift for a 31-year-old man.

A 31-year-old man who apparently has nothing better to do than spend seven hours in front of the TV building a Lego set.

Yikes.

I hate those moments when I realize just how desperately and unremittingly geeky I am.

Behold my mad skills with Windows Movie Maker!

I’m considering strapping the Batmobile to one of those model rockets that has a digital video camera in the nose, and launching it off of a ramp in a parking lot. Because everyone knows the Batmobile needs rocket power. Vroom, vroom, baby.

And, you know… it’d be a pretty sweet video to post here on the blog. Now I just need to justify the sixty bucks it’ll cost to bring this vision to life. The things I do to entertain you people…

      O. My. God. You DO have mad SKILLZ with Windows Movie Maker!! Not to mention the incredible skillz it took to put that thing together. I am so very impressed. And with those flames coming out of the Lego Batmobile….no question it’s worth the $60 to make it airborne. Seriously. Vroom vroom baby.

So you can make a cool lego video with your fancy computer… BIG DEAL. I’d like to see how you’d handle building a big Lego set with your fiancee and arguing when half the thing is put together wrong and you have to start over.

No thanks. My nerves aren’t quite as steely as they used to be.

Nice video. Though, I never did quite abide by the pre-designed lego sets — more of a free-form kind of guy when it comes to Lego, I suppose. Though, I did spend plenty of time in my youth building models and such….

I dunno GWS…seven hours seems like an awfully long time, even for 1000+ pieces…
