Geek Baby Goodness: The Jabba Kid
By Great White Snark | December 17, 2007
This is a little post about a little person. Not my little person. My friends’ little person. And by “little person,” I don’t mean it’s my friends’ midget. I mean, it’s their toddler. This is a post about my friends’ toddler.
And my next post will be about my innate reluctance to get to the frigging point.

Before heading over to the IMAX theater tonight to see the six-minute Dark Knight sneak preview in front of I Am Legend, I spent quality time with the little person, introducing into his growing vocabulary a new word: “Jabba!”
Because it’s never too early to start instilling a healthy respect for geek culture in America’s youth.
Oh, and don’t think that my friends didn’t laugh and roll their eyes a little at my geeky little exercise. Funny how not ten minutes later, I had the whole family parroting me (in absentia) during their car ride home.
Play the following clip (embedded in the post) to hear them cheering for everybody’s favorite giant, intergalactic gangster slug.

I should clarify that that’s not actually a photo of the child. The boy is quite handsome, and not at all slug-like.
