Yeah, playing "Call of Duty 4" this week was really the first time in a while (since it was the first truly amazing game in a while) that I REALLY missed my huge screen, and the ability to crank my surround sound up so loud I almost lose bowel control.

It wasn't a shot. ;) And I've always said the effects were awesome... it was everything else about Transformers (the plot holes, the painful dialogue, the lowbrow humor, Shia LeBeaufe) that was so painful.

My eyes glazed over as soon as you mentioned God of War on an 8-foot, 1080p screen. Drool, dude.

"I could even see how someone doing postproduction work on Transformers could mistaken it for a decent movie"

was that a shot???? I think that was a shot... come on it wasn't THAT bad a movie.

I had a similar theater to the top one once (2 houses ago).. the novelty wears off so fast, that we only used the thing to watch movies for about 6 months then I couldn't drag my wife down there.. it's so impersonal to sit in a theater. I honestly prefer my 50 inch plasma and a good couch.

However, Playing "Def Jam:FFNY", "God of War", "Shadow of the Colossus" and "Call of Duty 2", and especially "Need for Speed:Most Wanted" on an 8 foot 1080p screen in a pitch black sound proof room with the audio cranked so loud I still have hearing loss was actually pretty frickin' badass. That part never wore off.

Pretty sweet. I'd probably go for the Totoro home theater, or maybe the Howl's Moving Castle. I think that makes me a 12 year old girl instead of a geek though. Ah well.
