As I mentioned in the review, I do hope that they don’t take too many liberties with the time-travel thing… the skinless head event was definitely a distraction.

But they didn’t explain the terminator head coming thru the time machine without skin. Loved the rest but almost blew it for me. Why didn’t they just have him sit around for 7 years with no assignment then run into John several episodes from now.

Holy crap, there was a Mortal Kombat TV series back in 1999, and it even co-starred Kristanna Loken (speaking of The Terminator). I either never knew about it, or--more likely--it fell out of my completely-fallible memory. As far as your attitude toward T-TSCC, I don't blame you. These movies-turned-TV-series so rarely turn out well. The pilot was pretty good... like a mini-Terminator movie... but we'll see what happens when the show starts to follow its own chronology (ignoring the events of T3), as the producers have promised.

I’m a fan of the Terminator franchise, too (even the third film), so I was actually pleased that the pilot episode didn’t venture too far from the established canon.

I’d rather they play it safe and formulaic (according to the Terminator formula, that is), than muck with the established lore.

I’m excited about this. I saw an early pilot of this a few months ago and although I read that many things changed (like the school shooting scene), I am still highly anticipating this. I am a fan of the franchise, and I am intrigued to see where this series will go.
