I think the real issue is that in a “geek sculpture” contest you might see some very different kinds of things — in a cake contest you gotta have cake, otherwise, what’s the point of making the distinction?

Let me join the fray to say I too do not feel this is a cake. The styrofoam explanation I can deal with, but the clay-like-substance sculpture I cannot. This is not a cake sir. Nay, it is an abomination. It is the Geeky clay-like-substance-sculpture of the Week, which really isn’t as catchy. And I’m still put off that you can’t find me any star wars themed meat products.

I’m with Nima on this. This sculpture is teeth-meltingly awesome. But cake it is not.

What, pray tell, is edible on this? Just the icing?

Not to take anything away from the creator though.
