Contest - Win the new Justice League: The New Frontier DVD

In addition to the bountiful other geek goodness that I’ll be covering at WonderCon this coming weekend, I had planned on cramming into my schedule the “Exclusive World Premiere” of Justice League: The New Frontier on Saturday evening. Because watching cartoons on a Saturday night is just how I roll… right into celibacy. But I digress.
The gracious minions of marketing from Warner Home Video have saved me the trouble by sending me an advanced copy of the film. (Put that in your “exclusive” tailpipe, WonderCon.) So, per my original plan, I’ll bring you a sneak preview this week before the DVD
The company line on New Frontier, the second DC Universe original animated movie:
Inspired by the best-selling graphic novel by Darwyn Cooke and produced by the multiple Emmy® award winning animation legend, Bruce Timm, The New Frontier is the epic tale of the founding of the Justice League. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are all here of course, and so are Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Flash - whose incredible origins will be told for the very first time. Strangers at first, these very different heroes must overcome fear and suspicion to forge an alliance against a monster so formidable, even the mighty Superman can not stop it. If they fail, our entire planet will be “cleansed” of humanity.
In-the-know geeks love producer Bruce Timm for his work on the classic “Timmverse” series Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and–my favorite–the fantastic Justice League
But wait! There’s more! Warner has also offered to send a copy of the new Justice League: The New Frontier DVD to one of my lucky readers!

Green Lantern is my favorite DC character, and I’ll tell you why — his power is his WILL. With the ring, if he WANTS IT ENOUGH, he gets it.
He could use that to great damage — he could be utterly out of shape, fat, a glutton. He could create a false world for himself. He could use it to create riches, women, everything.
But he doesn’t. (Well, most of the time, he doesn’t; he is a man, and men are fallible.)
Instead he keeps himself in shape. He takes the mantle of protector and policeman that was thrust upon him without his consent, and performs his duties. He shields the weak.
Because he MAKES IT HAPPEN WITH HIS MIND.
That’s why Green Lantern is my favorite DC hero.

Very cool contest by the way. My kid is a junkie for anything superhero related (takes after his dad). My favorite DC character would probably be Batman. I know it’s an obvious choice. But here’s my reasoning. Batman has no powers, but still hangs with the big boys (and girls) everyday. It’s arguable that he could take on any DC character and win…with no powers. That’s determination.
Plus chicks dig a cowl.

A popular choice, but it’s gotta be Batman.
Since he has no super-powers he was born into (well, other than his gigantic family fortune), he’s largely a self-made hero. And the inner struggle with grief/sadness, skating the line b/w revenge and justice, the martial arts, the costume, gadgets and cars…good stuff.

I have a few favorite DC Characters. I’ll give you a few of my tops, with 1 being my favorite of course.
1. Supergirl: I don’t know why, maybe because she’s a hot chick… but I like supergirl way more than superman.
2. Powergirl: See above, plus she’s got really big boobs.
3. Dr. Fate: Like Dr. Strange, but with a better costume.
4. Captain Atom: I love how he was handled in JLU. He was forced to try to take superman down. What a crappy job!

My favorite is Wonder Women, of course because she is a strong female :) My other favorite growing up was Flash, not sure why.

Hmmmm…..I think my fave is Wonder Woman, just cause I remember the tv show and relate her to that. My boys would SO love this, I would get the Mother of the Year award!
