Geek Steal: iRobot Roomba Only 99 Bucks on Buy.com

By Great White Snark | March 25, 2008

The sexy robot-vacuuming action of the Roomba falls squarely in the “want, not need” category for most of us budget-conscious geeks, but prices are dropping to a point where I’m running out of excuses not to get one.

iRobot Roomba 400 Vacuum Cleaning Robot

Just saw the lowest price, yet. Buy.com has the last-generation iRobot Roomba 400 Vacuum Cleaning Robot on sale for $98.99, which is almost twenty bucks cheaper than the price on Amazon. Woot!

It automatically adjusts to different floor surfaces, goes where other vacuums can’t, has a 2.5 charge, and has smart sensor bumpers. And–unlike your Hoover–serves as perfectly acceptable fodder for dinner party conversation.

Check out the iRobot Roomba 400 Vacuum Cleaning Robot on Buy.com.

Welcome our new robot overlords, er, vacuum cleaners.

I can attest to the glory of the Roomba. I was cynical when my hubby first bought it, but since then, well, it’s rocked my world.

The Roomba is the closest incarnation of what I envisioned for the promise of the 2000’s (though a little squatter than the robot servants I was picturing). Still waiting for the flying cars and cybersex though.

Totally. The next Roomba should double as a hover-board.
