Giveaway: The Foot Fist Way DVD!

By Great White Snark | September 16, 2008

Next Tuesday, The Foot Fist Way drops on DVD. Never heard of it? That’s ok, you’re among the very vast majority of the free world that didn’t see it in theaters this past June.

Well, you and your several billion buddies missed out.

Foot Fist Way Poster

The Foot Fist Way stars Danny McBride, whom I’d argue stole the comedic spotlight in both Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express.

Of course, I thought Crash was the funniest movie of 2004, so what do I know?

No one will blame you if you still want to check out the official synopsis and favorable reviews for The Foot Fist Way on Metacritic after that ringing endorsement. You unabashed skeptic.

To sign up to win a brand-new copy of The Foot Fist Way on DVD:

  1. If you haven’t already, get an e-mail subscription to Great White Snark. It won’t cost you nuthin’.
  2. Leave a comment on this post. In the “Mail (will not be published)” field, enter the same e-mail address of your subscription, so I know who you are.
  3. In the comment, name your favorite cheesy martial arts film.

I’ll select the winner at random and announce them in an update to this post next Tuesday, September 23rd.

One entry per person. And remember, cheaters never prosper, because I’ve got your IP address, people: duplicate entries are dopey entries. Winners outside the forty-eight contiguous U.S. states pay shipping. Because this ain’t a money tree, it’s just a plain ol’ blog.

I don’t want the DVD, but I am here to assert that “American Ninja” starring Michael Dudikoff is the greatest film ever made. It’s got ninjas AND is patriotic. Plus, there’s a sassy black guy in it for some reason. It’s, like, a rainbow of delight. Also, it’s a red, white, and blue rainbow of BAD ASS!

This movie is awesome. Hopefully you get a ton of sign ups for the giveaway.

As for my favorite cheesy martial arts film it is easily Gymkata. Though I would argue it is not cheesy, but brilliant!

      Hmmm, favorite martial arts cheese?

Double Impact with Jean Claude Van Damme

He plays his own twin…hilarity ensues.

Wow…what a broad body of cheesy works to choose from! Van Damme, Seagal, Chuck Norris…who to choose??? Well, I may have to go “old skool”…and go with Black Belt Jones from 1974. You can’t go wrong with blaxploitation and kick ass martial arts action! Check it out…

My favorite flick hands down is Steven Seagal’s Marked for Death. His one man war against the Jamaican drug cartel features the greatest finishing moves in cinematic history! Eye gouge, followed by back breaker, and finished off by impalement via random pole in elevator shaft. Natch!

I don’t know if Shaolin Soccer is a cheesy martial arts film but I enjoyed it, since it had comedy and a combination of the martial arts.

Speaking of Van Damme, the best fight scene in the history of cinema is the one where he fights a giant penguin to the death:

The thing that puts it over the top is there’s a chick in that giant penguin costume.

I’d definitely have to say Shaolin Dolemite. That movie makes absolutely no sense, but Christ did I love it in high school.

Oh I got you guys beat on cheesy martial arts movies. I present to you the gem of 1992: “Sidekicks”. In the film, young Barry Gabrewski (played masterfully by Jonathan Brandis) day dreams of kicking butt and hanging out with his idol, Chuck Norris - all for the hopes of banging the banging hot Danica McKellar. Beau Bridges, Mako, and the best marital arts villain of all: Joe Piscopo!

My favorite cheesy martial arts movie: “Black Belt Jones,” hands down, if only for this immortal exchange:

      “Who the f**k hit me?”

      “Batman, motherf**ker!”
