Giveaway: Wonder Woman Animated on Blu-ray!
By Great White Snark | March 4, 2009
Good news, people. The Public Relations Gods have delivered a bubble-wrapped copy of the new, geek-hailed Wonder Woman animated movie unto my Mailbox of Postal Sanctity.
Even better news for those of you with PlayStation 3s: the PR deities saw fit to bestow the Blu-ray version of the movie upon me. (Apparently Nathan Fillion’s voice–as Steve Trevor–is twice as dreamy in Dolby TrueHD 5.1! Giddiness!)
Thus begin the brighter times. I’ve got even more great flicks lined up for giveaways in the coming weeks. (No, seriously. The dark days of the Max Payne giveaway will soon be a distant memory.)
To sign up to win a copy of Wonder Woman on Blu-ray:
- If you haven’t already, get an e-mail subscription to Great White Snark. It won’t cost you nuthin’.
- Leave a comment on this post. In the “Mail (will not be published)” field, enter the same e-mail address of your subscription, so I know who you are.
- In the comment, name your least-favorite member of the Justice League, and why.
I’ll select the winner at random and announce them in an update to this post next Thursday, March 12.
UPDATE: The winners are Shawn and his justifiably-cynical view of the DCU.
One entry per person. And remember, cheaters never prosper, because I’ve got your IP address, people: duplicate entries are dopey entries. Winners outside the forty-eight contiguous U.S. states pay shipping. Because this ain’t a money tree, it’s just a plain ol’ blog.
Netflix – Only $4.99 a month! No Late Fees. Try it for Free!

Green Arrow (Ollie).
It’s the beard. Whenever I see it, I picture Cary Elwes rubbing it thoughtfully and talking about an archery contest. It makes it impossible for me to take any storyline involving him seriously.

Geo-Force because of this picture right here

I missed this at Wondercon. Might be worth a watch.

How sad is it that I’m willing to support anything Firefly alumni do?
Hopefully the DVD’s actually good. Been hearing good things so far.

My least favorite member of the JLA is Superman. I find him utterly pointless, though people may hate me for this. He also loathes humanity, as displayed by his attempt to blend via bumbling.
Now I love Wonder Woman, so gimme! (Please, thank you?)
March 5th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Least favorite member is definitely Aquaman. While I agree with Kat that Superman is pointless, Aquaman is even more so. Seriously, how good can a super hero be if his power is calling fish? While I enjoy the super heroes that don’t have powers, if you have powers, calling fish is pretty lame. Next time an evil super villian is trying to take over the world, you can call all your fish friends and…have them drown on dry land, since that is where most super-villianry occurs.

2nd on the Aquaman. This adds a fun dimension to his lameness:

Agreed. Superman- pointless.

I would have to say Dr. Light. While I don’t have too much against her specifically, there’s the whole fact that her name was forever tainted by that…other Dr. Light…to the point where I can’t pick up a book that mentions *any* Dr. Light without cringing.
And also, she is pretty lame in her own right.

Hawkgirl is always, always a disappointment…I cannot stand her. Ugh.
March 5th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
Hawkman, because his freaking back story is so complicated.
And this is really good. Sign me up for a Blu-ray copy.
March 5th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
The Flash. His shameless violations of the laws of physics bothered me the most.
March 5th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
Normally I’d say Aquman, but really the worst member of the JLA is Superman. He’s too powerful and super-boring. The only time he was ever even remotely interesting was in Red Son, and he was a communist!

Zantana – Oh I can speak backwards! Big Friggin’ deal. (although I will say those fishnet hose are hot)
March 6th, 2009 at 10:07 am
Superman. I have always had a strong dislike for clean cut super heroes.

[...] Great White Snark is giving away Wonder Woman on Blu-Ray. Don’t enter, because I want a higher chance of winning. Seriously though, this movie [...]

Saying what Justice League member is your least favorite is almost the same as saying which DC character is your least favorite. Nearly every DC hero has been in the group at on point or another.
Mine is Steel. He was always just felt like a wannabe Superman. I was never big into Superman anyway so why would I want to watch a fake version of him?
March 7th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
Yeah Steel is a lot like superman, though I actually like some of his stories. He deals with chronic and untreatable pain, yet fights evil. I’d say that gives him a leg up over Sups. I mean, Superman is hardly ever given a challenge between Kryptonite. Ooh. Scary. It’s green and glowy.

Forever Maya from Justice League Europe just for just being 90′s cheesy. I know that DC Europe sometimes need to expand their base when it comes to readers but her background and bow that she somehow ended up not needing was too much. And her She-Ra costume cracked me up.
cheers

Superman.
I. Hate. Him.
I always have and always will.
He’s always the one who is supposed to end up saving the day because he’s all alien and strong and gets his stupid strength from the sun but he’s defeated by a fake substance that ends up being conveniently found and then everyone is screwed. But of course he always finds a way to save everyone because he’s Superman. It’s not because he’s smart or clever, he’s just a big brute overshadowing everyone!
Do I sound bitter? Because I am.
March 8th, 2009 at 7:44 pm
My least favorite character in the Justice League would have to be Aquaman. He has cool powers to command mammals and fish to help him underwater but when he is on land, it seems that he has a disadvantage towards using his powers around the city unless there happens to be a lake or pond that has creatures that would help him.
March 10th, 2009 at 3:01 pm
superman-booooooooooooooooooooring. no charisma and very one dimensional. super powers are very cliche.
March 11th, 2009 at 12:50 am
Superman is by far my least favorite. He’s just kinda cheesy. And we all know he’s a dick.
And just thinking about him brings to mind images of douchebags with superman symbol tattoos just because they want you to believe they’re super macho and awesome.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:55 am
i’m SO glad i’m not the only one who hates superman, but my answer isn’t him. it’s freakin’ SUPERGIRL. she’s just as pointless as superman, but much more annoying, inexperienced, and always in the way.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:20 am
Aquaman always struck me as being kind of a jerk.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
I have to say Aquaman. Really, what does he have to offer? Okay, maybe he was one of the founding members of Justice League of America, but he really only has powers around the water. Maybe we could have used him during the cold war with all the submarienes out there, but intoday’s society, we ned a hero that can fly.
March 12th, 2009 at 7:11 am
It’s a shame they aren’t releasing it over here in England. I would’ve entered this if Blu-Rays weren’t region locked :(
March 12th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
I want this DVD!!
My least favorite Justice League Hero is WONDER WOMAN!
You’ve actually posted about me on this site before.

Oh, I forgot to post why I don’t like her in Justice League. Because they make too much product with her that I feel the crazy need to buy!
(I get that my collection is hilarious!)
March 16th, 2009 at 12:45 am
Winner = Shawn.
