Giveaway: Transformers: The Complete First Season – 25th Anniversary Edition on DVD!
By Great White Snark | June 2, 2009
Eight days ahead of the release of Transformers 2 in theaters, the Transformers: The Complete First Season – 25th Anniversary Edition, complete with episodes of the 80s toon remastered to “broadcast quality,” hits DVD on June 16. And the Demigods of Cross-Promotional Merchandising want you to have a shot at a free copy.
Look at it. Just… look at it. Shiny, delicious, old-school Transformers, with nary a sign of the ham-handed, cheese-laden, LaBoof-smelling schlock of Michael Bay to be found.
In other words: perfection.
To sign up to win a copy of Transformers: The Complete First Season – 25th Anniversary Edition on DVD:
- If you haven’t already, get an e-mail subscription to Great White Snark. It won’t cost you nuthin’.
- Leave a comment on this post. In the “Mail (will not be published)” field, enter the same e-mail address of your subscription, so I know who you are.
- In the comment, craft a Transformers-related pun so cheesy that Michael Bay would consider featuring it in his next movie.
I’ll select the winner at random and announce them in an update to this post next Tuesday, June 9.
UPDATE: Congratulations to the compellingly-unimaginative Toni Mari.
One entry per person. And remember, cheaters never prosper, because I’ve got your IP address, people: duplicate entries are dopey entries. Winners outside the forty-eight contiguous U.S. states pay shipping. Because this ain’t a money tree, it’s just a plain ol’ blog.

You KNOW I want these. Sure, I have the Rhino releases…but I also have five different releases of the original 1987 movie (DVD, 20th Anniversary DVD, Japanese LD, Canadian VHS, dub of old US rental copy), so I don’t think that will be an issue.

And as for my actual entry (that last one was just random commenting :P)…
Transformers: The Chick Flick – First, they transformed his life…now…they’ll transform his heart.

I need to win because my boys (ages 5 and 7) think that “Transformers Animated” is the Transformers cartoon. It’s atrocious.
And let’s not forget the Michael Bay schlock. A toaster???!!!

Gah, forget it… I am not creative enough to write puns today!
I can’t find a SPARK of creative juice, nothing is getting my GEARS turning and I’m really RUNNING ON EMPTY. I need a JUMP START or something…
(yeah, sad, I know)

Oh yeah. This will confirm that I’m more than meets the eye. No decepticon-tion will this be. I’ll auto(bot)ically be the top robot. I shall be transformed into a geek God.
Ok, I’ll shut up.

I can’t think of anything good or cheesy pun wise. But I do love the Transformers.
Having jazz dance to a workout video would be funny. Can nickname him Jazzersize!

Sam to Bumblebee: “I’m not bringing you to my wedding. You’re just to bumbling, ‘Bee.”
Not my best work, I’ll admit.
June 7th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
“Optimus, let’s teach these DECEPTICLODS a lesson.”

ONE SHALL STAND… ONE SHALL FLOP.
Time will tell, but comparing the 20th Anniversary TF movie vs. Michael Bay’s TF “movie,” it’s easy which one people will be watching in the future.
Oh, and I know Frank Welker. He was a good friend of mine. Hugo Weaving is no Frank Welker.
