Giveaway: Burn Notice – Season Two on DVD!

By Great White Snark | June 8, 2009

Don’t be thrown off by the DVD cover art featuring Jeffrey Donovan and that chick who was pretty hot in the 1990s but then took a vacation from eating starting around 2003 and subsequently morphed into a somewhat-sensuous lady version of Skeletor.

Burn Notice is a genuinely-entertaining vehicle for the righteous glorification of one Mr. Bruce Campbell.  Burn Notice features more Bruce Campbell than a screening of the Evil Dead trilogy in Sam Raimi’s living room just after Sam has written all the cameos into the next Spider-Man film.

Yeah. There’s a lot of Bruce Campbell. And it’s great.

To sign up to win a copy of Burn Notice: Season Two on DVD:

  1. If you haven’t already, get an e-mail subscription to Great White Snark. It won’t cost you nuthin’.

I’d like to have a cameo in a Tim Burton movie because I’ve never ever seen one that I haven’t enjoyed.

I’d like to have a cameo in a Kevin Smith film. It’d be a blast to be in one of his movies, especially if given a memorable scene like the sailboat one in Mallrats. Oh, and also to get the chance to punch Ben Affleck (since he’s in almost everything Smith does) because he wrought the horror that is Gigli on us!

I’d have a cameo in an M. Night Shyamalan movie, because I always knew that flowers and wind would try to kill me anyway.

I want a cameo in an Alfred Hitchcock film, hopefully just talking to him while he’s having his cameo.

I’m going with Guillermo del Toro. Two words: Pan’s Labyrinth. Two more words: The Hobbit.

I’d like a cameo in Quentin Tarantino’s movies. I love his work. Can’t wait for Inglorious Basterds. I’d like to be that girl you see in all his films who never really has a major role in ANY film (not only his), but that you always remember. I don’t need stardom. My obit can read, “She was known for her bit roles in Quentin Tarantino movies. Never really a star, but always regarded as one…”

A cameo in a Woody Allen movie would curl my toes, but I’m special like that.

I’m going to second Kevin Smith. Not only are his films hilarious and awesome and I’d love to say “Yeah, I was a part of that,” most of his walk-on roles have great lines or do something really memorable. You could really have a lot of fun doing a cameo in a Kevin Smith film.

Oh man this is a sweet deal.

I think I will have to second Guillermo del Toro. I am an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy, and although I will never ever watch Pan’s Labyrinth again, I will watch most of his other works with a rapt joy at the unique perspective that he brings.

I was going to name a famous pornography director, because what a great cameo opportunity that would be! But I can’t think of any, so I will have to say a Quentin Tarantino film cameo would be my choice. A cameo in his movie is sure to be violent, sickening, and hilarious at the same time. Sounds like fun.

    11. Wavatar Ryan O Says:
      June 9th, 2009 at 9:30 am

I would have to say that I’d love to have cameos in any and all Ridley Scott movies! Not only would it be great to be in all those epics that Scott directs but I would have a cameo in all of the movies he produces! That’s double the fun.

    12. Wavatar Geraldine Says:
      June 9th, 2009 at 11:45 am

My first thought was also Tarantino. I’d be content to play some random goon if it meant being involved in some convoluted action scene with ninjas or the like

Baz Luhrman because he works with really pretty people in beautiful places and his world view is a bit on the wacky side, which I tend to really dig.

      Also? McG. Enough said.

I would love to be in a Clint Eastwood movie just to meet him. I had the worst crush on him back in the day.

sam raimi, because i can’t act, but i can make freaky faces, cackle, and scream like a banshee.

I’d love to cameo in a Mel Brooks movie. Because his movies are funny and because, hey, why not? It’s all hypothetical, it’s not like I have to put any real thought into what I type here.

    17. Wavatar Moises De Leon Says:
      June 9th, 2009 at 8:42 pm

I would like to cameo Steven Spielberg because his films are fantastic, creative and brilliant. It will be great opportunity to meet Steven and find out how he comes up with all these great ideas on all his visionary film.

    18. Wavatar Lorieann Says:
      June 9th, 2009 at 9:08 pm

It’s got to be a Ron Howard film for me. I’ve watched him grow up on screen, the adorable kid in The Music Man movie, Opie on the Andy Griffith Show and too many other roles to list here.
He reminds me of my little brother even though he (Ron) is one year older than I am.

    19. Wavatar Jason Fiske Says:
      June 10th, 2009 at 4:15 am

Steve Spielbergs movies I would love to land a cameo in. His movies are all hits and I know i would be seen for years and years to come. Oh, and if I could meet Chewbacca, it would be even better.

I’d like a cameo in a Miyazaki movie… I’d love to see what I’d look like as tripped-out Japanese cartoon character.

I’d love to cameo in a Danny Boyle film, those slumdog kids got lots of perks!

I’d love to have a cameo in a Guy Ritchie movie, because his movies all have hot, manly men who remove at least some article of clothing for no apparent reason other than because Guy Ritchie is totally gay. I have no objection with any of this.
Or Martin Scorsese, just because he’s so awesome.

    23. Wavatar Shawn Says:
      June 10th, 2009 at 6:57 pm

I’d take a cameo in a Ridley Scott film because I’d probably be in something epic.

    24. Wavatar Izandra Says:
      June 12th, 2009 at 7:34 pm

Tim Burton, ’cause then my chances of meeting Johnny Depp will go up by 1000x.

    25. Wavatar Mara Says:
      June 14th, 2009 at 10:39 am

I would kill for a cameo in a Kevin Smith movie, because I think he’s one of the funniest people out there, and I really like how he treats his actors.

If I had to choose a consolation prize? Probably Miyazaki.

    26. Wavatar Meagan Says:

I’m still a total Whedon girl (yes, even Dollhouse) so I’ll pick my man Joss. Bonus points if I get to share a scene with Nathan Fillion! *swoons at the mere thought*

l would love a cameo in a brad bird film to be part of the pixar magic. even if you can’t see the real me, it’d be such an experience to go to emmeryville to lay down to voice work!

A cameo? Definitely David Lynch. His work is always crazy and complicated and eccentric and entertaining. Plus to work with him would most likely be incredibly fun. I mean, have you SEEN the clip of him promoting Laura Dern for Academy consideration in Inland Empire? LOVE David Lynch!

Hmm. I can think of several, but I’ll settle on George Lucas, because of the cool costumes.

There are a lot of TV shows I could name that I would like a cameo in, but as far as a director giving me a cameo in a movie I would have to say I would most like to work with Luc Besson. His movies are stylish, thrilling and above all entertaining. Kinda like ‘Burn Notice’

Love, love, love “Burn Notice.” Anything with Bruce Campbell is worth watching for me!

Hail to the King, baby! :)

I’d absolutely love to cameo in a Wes Anderson film. I would especially love to be in one of his awesome slow-mo scenes set to some British Invasion song, à la Max Fischer in “Rushmore.”

The scene where he’s just infested Bill Murray’s hotel room with bees, and then walks out of the elevator… and, in slo-mo, sticks his gum to the wall… is one of my favorites. I love it. Wes Anderson is a genius.
