Giveaway: Superman/Batman: Public Enemies – Two-Disc Special Edition on DVD!

By Great White Snark | September 21, 2009

I’m pretty psyched about making a copy of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies available to one of you lucky people this week. The DC Universe animated movies  are much like pizza, sex, and Kanye West jokes: even when they’re bad, they’re still pretty good.

Superman Batman Public Enemies DVD

And the early reviews bode particularly well for this one. (Check out the trailer for yourself.) Of course, it doesn’t hurt that they brought back the spot-on-perfect voices from the original Batman and Superman animated series.

No, it doesn’t hurt at all. Not until you rip the band-aid off, and then I squeal like a little girl at a Zac Efron lookalike contest.

To sign up to win a copy of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies – Two-Disc Special Edition on DVD:

  1. If you haven’t already, get an e-mail subscription to Great White Snark. It won’t cost you nuthin’.
  2. Leave a comment on this post. In the “Mail (will not be published)” field, enter the same e-mail address of your subscription, so I know who you are.
  3. In the comment, name the lamest moment in Batman/Superman team-up history.

I’ll select my favorite and announce that winner in a new post next Tuesday, September 29.

You want a Lame team up moment?? How about the entire old school Justice League cartoon. Entire series was lame and was a Batman/Superman team up.

We have a box of action figures at our house and I walked in on my 3 year old playing with a Batman and a Superman. I asked what they were doing and he said ‘They’re dancing’… – aaaaaaaand that was just about the lamest team up I have ever seen.

The lamest moment in Batman/Superman team-up history? I believe it was actually a Superboy story in which the Wayne family briefly lived in Smallville, giving young Bruce the opportunity to wear a “Flying Fox” costume and participate in a Superboy adventure. Not being able to leave well enough alone, the story also featured Superboy using his big-screen futurescope to show Bruce that they would become fast friends a adults.

I love Batman; don’t get me wrong. But when Bats throws Superman over this shoulder in the nightclub…shouldn’t Superman have FLOATED into the wall instead of thudding against the floor? Come on! Physics!

I would have to go with neither of them ever hitting on Wonder Woman on Justice League.
Well, it was a kids show, but they could have at least flirted a little.

Lamest moment in their teamup history? I think it has to be when they faced Composite Superman. He had all of the Legion’s powers, and a vendetta against Supes, so he shapeshifts to be half Superman…half Batman? And green?

As stupid as he looks, his powers make him unbeatable. But he still loses…when his powers wear off. Way to wait him out, Superman and Batman.

The Last Issue of Sups Bats that I read… They basically have the new Toyman another minor boy replacing Harold the guy who used to make the Batarangs and stuffs. This means that they send Superboy and Robin out of course and they have to fight the Toyman’s toys, with really lame puns. They do this in giant Mecha and destroy Tokyo. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

I admit of course that the others that are already posted, also happen to be pretty lame.

The worst Batman/Superman team up has to be when Superman and Batman had an argument on their strengths and weaknesses. It was a dull episode of Batman series.

The worst Batman/ Superman team up has to be when Batman shows up in Smallville and helps Superman battle out some of his villians. Since the villians know about Supermans weakness it gave Batman a chance to be the hero instead of Superman himself saving the world.

I have to go with the post-Death of Superman arc when Batman turns to Supes and just goes “Let’s face it Clark… the last time you truly inspired anyone… was when you were DEAD.” I mean, come on, I thought these guys were supposed to be best friends. Way to step up to the plate with a good ol’ “atta boy” when your buddy’s down.

Aaaand link FAIL. In the website field now. It’s apparently the revelation of Superboy murdering Batman’s parents.

I would have to say Krypto the Super Dog and BatHound – that right there is just plain silly.

The part of Superman & Batman: Generations where they wisely decide to call Bruce Wayne jr. “BJ”. Way to scar a child early on.
