Hope for Mankind: Most Grateful Kid Ever Gets an Xbox 360

I have bemoaned many-a-time the horrific extent to which parents spoil their small children with outrageous gifts and birthday cakes. For one, none of these kids have been alive long enough to have done anything to deserve a $500 cake. (Cure a communicable disease and we’ll talk about a pizza party, kid. Maybe.)
And two, what kid truly grasps or appreciates the extent to which he or she is being spoiled? Kids just don’t have a sense of context or perspective. Don’t trust anyone whose eternal affection you can buy with $5 worth of Pokemon playing cards.
Which brings me to this kid, who got an Xbox 360 for his birthday. AND HE DAMN WELL APPRECIATES IT.
Weeping and saying through his tears, “You must have spent a fortune on this”?
I deem this child: ACCEPTABLE.

My daughter was frequently like that. If a present was too expensive, she would be worried. She never asked for more than one thing.

Seriously, they’re never gonna be able top this! Well, maybe if they buy him a new car or something…. Settin’ the bar kinda high, huh?

Seems like he’s had a bit of a rough go in previous years. There was mention of hospitals, etc. Glad there’s some kids out there (besides my own ;-) that appreciate the effort parents make.

I don’t know… still not sure what he’s done to deserve this other than be outmanned by his little sister who doesn’t cry like a girl. Ha ha. I’m just kidding. Cute kid. Now go cure cancer because you’ve been paid in advance.
