Actually, according to Star Trek lore, and The Next Generation, the two GOLD shirts are screwed. The yellow shirts were command in the original series and the red were the ones marked for death. In Next Generation, it was the other way around. And the man in the background is not Chakotay. Chakotay is from Voyager, two series after The Next Generation. This family, though awkward, is just proving they’re a group of Trekkies. Nothing wrong with it. Hell, I’d do it.

The boy on the lower right is the only one wearing rank pips, and he’s a lieutenant commander. We can assume that the rest of the family is enlisted.
