Bulge-y: Captain America Cake [Geeky Cake]
By Great White Snark | March 9, 2010
Photos of the amazing cakes from the That Takes the Cake sci-fi-themed cake show in Austin at the end of February continue to pour* into the intertubes.
Just check out the phenomenal amount of sculpting that went into this Captain America cake: the contours of the face, the smooth, symmetrical curves of the shield, the scales of the armor, and the unnervingly-distracting bulge of that codpiece.

No, seriously… look at that thing. (The unnerving bulge, I mean.) I only wish that I could stop looking at it. Once you notice it, you can’t un-notice it.
I just can’t help but wonder about the deliberate, special care that was taken by the cake artisan to make sure that we all know that this Captain America cake is anatomically correct. (Or is at least anatomically… anatomical.)

* And by “pour”, I mean the photos were pretty much available last week, but I’ll post them when I damn well ready, thankyouverymuch.
