Good Acting Is So Overrated: Star Trek “I’m Captain Kirk!” [Video]

It’s any day of the week, so you know what that means… time to bring attention to the unremitting ridiculousness that is the original series of Star Trek!*

And so, in the immortal-ish words of Jon Lovitz on Saturday Night Live, I present to you: ACT-TING! …by William Shatner.

For my money, the Emmy moment is at 0:18.

I don’t know what’s more distracting: the comical facial contortions, or the eye-liner.

* I.e., time to let the original Star Trek series speak for itself, thereby cementing its hard-earned reputation for hilarious terribleness with minimal commentary or effort on my part.
