Artsy: Watermelon Death Star

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

I can’t look at this watermelon Death Star and not think of Gallagher and the Sledge-O-Matic.

(Because my mind is always on the highest high-brow of comedy. That’s why. Now stop looking at me like that. I SAID LOOK AWAY.)
Via kuriositas by way of NotCot, whose ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to… no, [...]

Now with Extra-Pointy Ears: Junkyard Steampunk Yoda

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

So here’s a steampunk Yoda sculpture built from random metal scraps.

Which is pretty impressive. Whenever I’m feeling artistic and have got a bunch of scraps laying around, I end up with a rudimentary pyramid. Or boob. Depending on how deft my hands are that day.

Impressive, I Guess: Dude Builds Minas Tirith Out of 420,000 Matchsticks

Friday, February 26th, 2010

And now his work is featured in the Matchstick Marvels Tourist Center. (Which is sort of like a museum. But not as respectable. [...]

Because your sense [...]

Snow-Blowers Are for Wussies: Snow-Melting Fire-Breathing Dragon [Video]

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Nick and Anna B. of Bel Air, Maryland, don’t screw around when it comes to battling the Snowpocalypse. Nick, an engineer, handmade everything on this fire-breathing dragon, “including his fiery red eyes and his ferocious roaring.”

It’s not often a geek can out-badass the neighborhood’s Johnny Power Tool, so cheers to Nick.

The Force Is Creamy with this One: Life-Size Yoda Butter Sculpture

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

I guess I shouldn’t have told Google that its ass looked fat in those jeans, because it wouldn’t give up the goods tonight when I was trying to figure out who crafted this larger-than-life-size sculpture of Yoda out of butter.
UPDATE: Commenter mel whispered some sweet nothings into Google’s ear. Here’s the butter Yoda story.

Do [...]
