Bad Idea, or Worst Idea?: Awful Joker Tattoos [Geeky Tattoos]
By Great White Snark | August 20, 2010
I’ve spent ten minutes debating which of these two Joker tattoos is the worst one I’ve ever seen.
As it turns out, I’m right either way.

Nerdsplosion: Trekkie Sings Lyrics to Star Trek: The Next Generation Theme Song
By Great White Snark | August 18, 2010
I’ve been sitting on this video for about three days, but an out-of-town work conference (hello, prostitutes!) has temporarily severed my usually-constant intravenous connection to the internetwebs. Hence: the sporadic posting this week.
I’ll be back home and re-connected this evening. But in the meantime, I will no longer be kept from helping another grossly-misguided Star Trek fan expose his lunacy to the world.
Via Warming Glow, who once showed a prostitute his lunacy. Which is a euphemism.

Thanks, Keys!: Star Wars Talking Plush Keychains
By Great White Snark | August 18, 2010
I went all testosterone-y there in the last post, so here’s something soft and adorable to lull you back into a more Zen place.

‘Cause it’s more fun pulling the emotional rug out from under you when you’re in your happy place.
Via The Neatoshop, who has a delightful emotional rug made from 100% pony hair.

You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out! And Your Arm Off!: Custom-Built Airsoft Minigun
By Great White Snark | August 18, 2010
Some guy (or cyborg Oompa-Loompa?) who goes by Kuba_T1000 spent about $1,500 and a few years designing this Airsoft minigun in 3D modeling software, and then machining all of the pieces from aluminum.
It feeds plastic BBs from an electric ammo pack that holds 16,000 rounds.

And the result–as you can see in the firing demo in the video, below–is nothing but deeply satisfying for anyone who has ever known the metaphorical taste of testosterone.

Not Even Good in Theory: Kid’s Batman Symbol Buzz Cut
By Great White Snark | August 17, 2010
True story: in 8th grade, I tried to shave two stripes into my hair just above my ear. (Because Vanilla Ice, that’s why.) They ended up more “gaps” than “stripes,” and there was even a gash in one of the gaps where the electric razor had been pressed to my skull too hard(!).

My point is this: I suffered thanks to my own poor judgement. This kid suffered thanks to his parents’ poor judgment.
Because no little kid says, “Hey, you know what would be just dapper? A choppy mullet with a Batman symbol carved in the side.”
But “choppy mullet Batman shave” is why half the parents in Florida decided to get pregnant in the first place.
Via Look at this Frakking Geekster, who… yes. Ok. I see him.

Alice the Zombie Slayer: Zombies in Wonderland Cake [Geeky Cake]
By Great White Snark | August 16, 2010
Karen P. crafted this Alice in Wonderland zombie cake based on the Zombies in Wonderland t-shirt from Threadless.

In case you can’t tell what’s happening amongst this seemingly-random smattering of bloodied fondant figures: a sword-wielding Alice is smiting the zombie-fied inhabitants of Wonderland.
Which I give an “A+” for concept, and a “B-” for execution. I would have given it a “C+”, but the shocked, disembodied White Rabbit head pulls the whole thing together.
