Thanks, 1970s Japan!: Insane Star Wars-Themed Commercial for Sea Chicken [Video]

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Answer: Chewbacca jumping and yelping like someone just gave him a hearty Wookiee-neutering. Horrible doppelgangers of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia. “Sea chicken,” a screeching mantra that will haunt your ears like nothing else since “RED RUM.” The geisha-like version of C-3PO that you never imagined could be more effeminate than the original. So Wrong: Vader. Dude. That’s Your *Daughter*, Man.

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

What a horrible, horrible* use of Photoshop. I feel dirty** just looking at it.

Via some nutty Russian LiveJournal page that’s so NSFW I’d risk contaminating my typing fingers just by linking to it.
* I.e., horribly hilarious.
** I.e., guiltily gleeful.

Mini-Morbidity: Kid’s Darth Vader Costume

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Hello, Xenophobia: French Star Wars Disco Dance Party

Monday, January 11th, 2010

I initially had some difficulty deciding which to blame for the most lazy piece of choreography you’ve ever seen performed (poorly) by spandexed C-3POs and Darth Vaders in this disco-themed Star Wars video: France, or the atrocious pop culture trends of the late 1970s.
I settled on France.*

NO! BAD, FRANCE! BAD!

Do I Know You?: Star Wars Emperor Palpatine Cake [Geeky Cake]

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Jen’s Party Cakes apparently has a long-ish history of creating cartoonishly-deformed cakes of Star Wars characters. Like Darth Vader. Or a Stormtrooper.
But this Emperor Palpatine cake says “puppet” more than “cartoon” to me. Specifically, it reminds me of Junior Gorg from Fraggle Rock. (Enjoy that flashback. You’re welcome.)

May the Force Be with Nom: Star Wars Cupcakes

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Liz M. of Artisan Cake Company in Keizer, Oregon, sent me the deets on these delightful Star Wars cupcakes she made for some kid who definitely didn’t share these with me. ‘Cause I would have remembered that.

From Liz:
What really warms my heart is that these were for a little boys birthday. The force is still [...]
